Merchandising Manager (Tacoma, WA)
Griot's Garage, a multi-channel, direct mail, E-commerce Company, specializing in products for automotive enthusiasts, has an opening for an experienced Merchandising Manager. The candidate for this position possesses a keen eye for value and quality, a proclivity for uniqueness, a sophisticated insight into the automotive enthusiast and their buying trends. The ideal candidate is extremely detailed, organized, and possesses the ability to envision, develop and bring to market in a timely manner, unique products that sell at profit margins which meet the long term growth goals of Griot's Garage, whether it is sourced around the corner or around the world. The candidate will also have the ability to manage 20+ projects at a time, meet strict scheduling deadlines, and write copy. A passion for automobiles will make this career choice a "dream job". This is a full time, salaried management position. This position reports to the Vice President of Marketing.
Technology experience/skills:
- Minimum of 5 years merchandise experience in direct mail and e-commerce business
- A minimum of 4 years experience in managing others
- An understanding of Synaro Advantage software would be a plus
- Interact with all other segments of the company
- Detailed history/background in square inch analysis
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
Responsibilities:
- Management of, identification, selection, development, validation, testing, pricing and positioning of products, ideally unique, to be sold profitably through all of our sales channels.
- Reevaluation of existing products by recommending new features or better, more cost effective ways to produce the products.
- Reviews and recommends revisions of all promotional and product literature for features, including guarantees, and warranties.
- Ensures integrity of new vendors for quality and availability to make deliveries on projected and unanticipated quantities. Works with operations to ensure fulfillment of merchandise comes to fruition.
- Analyzes and forecasts sales by item, trends and inventory using historical data and analytical methods such as square inch, life time of product, etc.
- Works with Purchasing to negotiate and renegotiate quantity requirements, pricing and delivery with vendors and researches alternative sources of supply.
- Provides management with item performance reports and tracks slow moving and surplus merchandise for suggestions as to what to remove from the catalog and or the web site.
- Participates in product selection review.
- Reviews Handbook layouts and color proofs for proofing and correct merchandise description, pricing, and part numbers.
- Works with receiving to make sure merchandise is as expected.
- The ability to travel and attend trade fairs worldwide to research and seek out new merchandise is a possibility.

Call Center Sales Representative (Tacoma, WA)

We are currently hiring for Inside Sales Representatives. This position is responsible for responding to inbound telephone/email inquiries. We would prefer 1-3 years Inside Sales experience for this position but candidates with a sharp mind and eagerness to learn will be strongly considered. We are looking for a self-motivated, goal oriented professional who thrives in a fun sales environment.
Responsibilities:
- Field inbound sales and customer service calls/emails
- Capturing proper customer information
- Cross-selling additional related products
- Fielding technical product and process inquiries
Qualifications:
- Aggressive, motivated, self-starter who is passionate about their work.
- 1-3 years Inside Sales experience preferred.
- Strong oral communication skills; able to have a well-structured conversation at every level.
- Ability to build rapport, qualify, present, and build value for sales opportunities.
- Ability to type 30-40 wpm.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks successfully.
- Strong MS Windows Application Knowledge.
- Ability to perform well in a constantly changing environment; taking on new roles as needed with a customer centric work environment.
- Ability to understand new technologies and software for sales tracking.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
